Today, Stanley Road welcomed Anna and Ambreen through our doors to work with groups of children throughout the year. We are very excited to now be offering a new Gardening Club on Tuesdays and a Cooking Club on Thursdays. This week: Egg & Cress!
Egg and Cress Sandwiches
Cress leaves from any supermarket (or even better if home grown) 4 boiled eggs 4 slices wholemeal bread Margarine
Cut cress with scissors Boil eggs for 8 min Slightly butter bread Add sliced boil egg and cress on bread Add mayo or salad cream (optional)
Eat & enjoy!
We are very lucky at Stanley Road to have our own polytunnel! We examined the seeds, added the soil to our pots and gently sprinkled the cress seeds on top. We covered the seeds with more soil and watered them.
Next, we went to the DT room where we given some fully grown cress to use in our sandwiches. The adults boiled and peeled the eggs whilst we chopped and prepared our cress and bread. We made our sandwiches and they tasted delicious!
