Steve Hill is famous in Oldham for his charity fundraising activities which he calls 'Hill's Challenges'. One of these challenges recently involved Steve climbing Mount Everest and he has raised over £50,000 for charity over the past few years. We were lucky to have a visit from Steve as part of our Dream It Week to talk about his adventures and to encourage the children to follow their dreams and to 'Dream Big'! The children in Year 5 loved hearing about his adventures and were inspired to think about the ambitions they have for their future.
Steve sent us a lovely message after the event to thank us for the warm welcome he received. He said...
"It was an absolute pleasure and a privilege to spend the afternoon speaking to the children of Stanley Road Primary School as part of their Dream it Week! I felt very honoured to be asked to share my adventures with them and hopefully help inspire them to work hard to achieve their dreams! Such motivated and enthusiastic children who demonstrated the highest standards in behaviour and manners and asked some great questions. The future is in safe hands with these children - A real credit to their school!! Thanks again for the warm welcome I received! Good luck chasing those DREAMS!!"
