Thursday 3rd March was World Book Day at Stanley Road. The children took part in lots of activities to develop a love of reading. All the children took part in a special book swap afternoon where they went to different classrooms to listen to a book of their choice.
As part of the celebrations we have bought £6000 worth of brilliant books for children to read at home to help them practise their reading. You should soon notice these new books coming home in book bags with their reading records which you can help to fill in to keep a log of what the children are reading and how they are getting on. If you need a book bag please go to the school office and they will be happy to get one for you - these only cost £3.
