Year 3 will be starting their new entry day on Tuesday 3rd November. Children can dress as cavemen/ cavewomen on that day.
We finally attended our much awaited trip to the Blue Planet Aquarium. Here are some pictures of our day and some of the sea life creatures we got to see. We particularly enjoyed seeing the sea animals we researched during our topic such as the lion fish, jellyfish, crabs and sharks!
Today we have been learning about democracy and how in Britain we elect our government by voting. Today we took part in a mock election. We had 3 candidates, who delivered speeches about why we should choose them. We then secretly voted and put our voting slips into the ballot box.
Today 3AH looked at the water cycle. We made collages to show the water cycle and the processes involved.
Click below to see some examples of our work!
3AH will be looking at multiplication in the next few weeks. We will recap the 2, 5 and 10 times table. We will then move onto investigating and recalling the 3, 4 and 8 times table.
Here is a song that we can look at home. This will help us with our three times table: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWxPKnLtnus
Parents can help by helping us recall these facts!
3AH will be writing a recount in their extended writing. We will start off by looking at past tense verbs and time connectives. Then we will use out class trip on Friday as inspiration to write a recount.
Parents can help by helping us to practise our sentence writing skills!
We will look at the changes of state of water and the water cycle.
Here is a video about changes of state: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuE1LePDZ4
3AH have been looking at sea animal food chains in science. We ordered sea animals into a food chain. We then looked at which is a producer, consumer or top predator.
Year 3 are looking forward to our trip on Friday.
We have looked through the Blue Planet website. We are particularly keen about watching the 'aqua theatre' and seeing sharks.
We have been researching sea animals for 6 weeks now and we are excited to see them in real life!
