At Stanley Road, we are pleased to welcome Anna and Ambreen from WIFI North West. They will be with us for the year giving our students the chance to take part in a new gardening club on Tuesdays and a cooking club on Thursdays.
Egg and Cress Sandwiches
Ingredients Cress leaves from any supermarket 4 boiled eggs 4 slices wholemeal bread Margarine
Method Cut cress with scissors Boil eggs for 8 min Slightly butter bread Add sliced boil egg and cress on bread Add mayo or salad cream (optional)
Our school is lucky enough to have our own polytunnel! We planted cress seeds to grow in school and even got to take some home!
Once the seeds were planted and watered, we went to the DT room to start preparing our food. Anna and Ambreen gave us fully grown cress that was ready to eat. We cut of the roots whilst the adults cooked the eggs.
We all agreed that our sandwiches were delicious! We can't wait for our own cress to grow so that we make some more at home.
