Phonic Ebooks
Use the links below to access phonic ebooks to support your child's reading at home. Please scroll down through the list to find the appropriate colour band for your child which matches the phonic knowledge they need to practise. If you are not sure which phonic phase your child is at then please contact school on [email protected] and your child's class teacher will be happy to help.
Please note that in some of the books it is recommended that parents encourage children to look at the illustrations to help them read. We do not encourage this approach as it is far more effective to get children to sound out the words using their phonic knowledge than to guess at words from the pictures. Using phonic knowledge is the best way to learn to read - when they get older they will not be able to rely on pictures so it is not an effective strategy for children to get used to.
For copyright reasons you must only use these books for your own children who attend Stanley Road and they must not be shared with anyone else.
