Welcome to the new Stanley Road website!

As you can see there are lots of things going on at Stanley Road. Whether its music, sport, academic achievement or support for families through the Children’s Centre, I’m sure you will find things amongst our broad range of activities of interest to you.

Our school is a two form entry co-educational Community Primary School and Children’s Centre for children aged 0 to 11 years. The school was built in 1903 and has been used as various Primary, Secondary and Comprehensive schools during its history. As our numbers have grown we have expanded the school and we now have an 8 classroom extension which opened in September 2010. We claim several ex-Mayors of Oldham amongst our former-pupils including the 1991-92 Mayor, Councillor Ralph Semple.

We work hard to ensure that our children children to be good citizens through our ethos, ethics and behaviour policy, our rights respecting school work and our commitment to the ‘May Peace Prevail on Earth’ programme and our broad creative curriculum. We organise activities to promote active learning based on first hand experience. We promote active citizenship through our curriculum, which is well supported by our school council.

We provide children with opportunities to work hard, have academic success, to aspire to develop and enjoy new skills and achieve sporting or artistic success.

Stanley Road is a school that aims to provide a safe, caring environment where children and adults can learn and work in a trusting and happy atmosphere.

We seek to provide the best all round education possible so that everyone can be proud to be here.  We aim to achieve the highest standards for each child across the curriculum so that they have the learning skills to prepare them for their future lives. We do this in an environment permeated by a caring ethos, which is reinforced through the services provided by our Children’s Centre.

Our school continually strives to improve itself through developing each child and adult’s potential and by celebrating their culture and individuality. Through these we intend to make our school everyone’s first choice.

As you browse through our website we hope that these key themes will be apparent to you in the work and achievements of our school.
