Music Curriculum
We are passing on the discoveries and work of the previous generations to the next, whilst empowering pupils to add to this body of knowledge in the future.
At Stanley Road, we use the Charanga scheme to teach music from EYFS to Y6. In response to the DfE Model Music Curriculum published in 2021, Charanga are currently updating their scheme of work. This has not been fully published at the time of writing (January 2022) and so the full curriculum documentation will be available in due course.
In order to supplement the Charanga curriculum, we also ensure that pupils learn about a number of significant pieces of music during their time at Stanley Road. Pupils are immersed in some of these pieces of music as they enter and leave assembly in the morning and also listen to and study a range of pieces in class over the year.
